The BTEA Series are 1550 nm ErbiumDoped Fiber Amplifiers (EDFA) engineeredto meet the requirements for distributionof CATV video and data signals in FTTH/FTTP and HFC systems. Models areavailable with 1, 2 or 4 outputs witheither 16 dBm or 19 dBm optical outputper port.

This rugged, low-profile, high-efficiencyEDFA design utilizes powerful and reliablepump amplifiers in a two-stage designwith interstage isolators. The unit's wideoptical input range accepts a single opticalinput and provides a total composite/saturated output power of up to 400mW/26 dBm (19 dBm, 4 output model).As a matter of convenience and safety, thishigh output is further limited by dividingthe unit's power into individual opticaloutput ports via an internal low losscoupler, which ultimately provides 1, 2, or4 optical output ports of +16 dBm or +19dBm depending upon model.
