Video Switcher

By definition, a video switcher is the equipment used to manually switch between sources of audio and video. In some instances, it is also used in mixing footages and clips or add a special effect on a video from a different source. It is also a key operator in the production of color signals, addition of visual effects, and adjustment of mixes. Technically, it is the same as a video mixer or a production switcher.

The device catches feed from multiple video inputs and processes it before it displays on a single feed output. Some of its main capacities include direct cuts of feed and simple transition addition to the video. This is mostly used for live broadcasts.

Audio Switcher

Similar to a video switch, the audio switcher is used to cut and mix audio tracks from multiple sources directed to one output. Furthermore, this switch needs its own power supply to start functioning. Which is why most switch comes with a built-in loop-thru connectors.
