Thor part number H-87S-HWTC is an 8 channel ASI Hardware Transcoder system for MPEG-2 and H.264 broadcast programs. Six DVB-ASI inputs and a Gigabit Ethernet IP input are provided to convert up to 4 HD programs or up to 8 SD programs in between H.264 and MPEG-2. Each program has individual dedicated settings, and the system can convert in both directions between MPEG-2 and H.264 at the same time. Also offers program resolution scaling from HD to SD. Based on the advanced Thor Web Management system, control is provided through any standard internet web browser supporting secure login. Once logged in, all detected programs are displayed across all input interfaces. Designed specifically for IPTV systems, the network output is based on Thor's latest video server technology supporting RTSP. When configured properly the RTSP protocol allows this transcoder to work directly with internet and cloud based IPTV media servers. Thor H-8TS-HWTC is an ideal solution to bridge the gap between modern H.264 based system and MPEG-2 ATSC broadcasting. Perfect for IPTV systems, IP program output is available as a single program transport stream and a combined multi program transport stream.
