Connectronics High Density HD-BNC Male to Standard BNC Female HD-SDI Cables with Belden 1855A Mini-RG59
The HD-BNC (aka Micro-BNC) is fast becoming popular on broadcast routers like the Harris Selenio as well as devices like the Gennum GS3440 Equalizer and GX3290 Crosspoint. HD-BNC delivers true 75 ohm performance in a footprint 51% smaller than traditional BNC connectors, allowing four times the density. Engineered to enhance electrical and mechanical performance, the HD-BNC connector features the trusted, push and turn interface of a traditional BNC, providing tactile feedback and a positive lock for quick and guaranteed mating. Using the same cable prep and termination specifications of legacy broadcast connectors makes adopting HD-BNC seamless.
One of the distinct advantages of the HD-BNC is its lack of variable return loss and mechanical bonding commonly found with mini-BNC and DIN 1.0 / 2.3 connectors. The HD-BNC connector meet or exceeds SMPTE 292M and SMPTE 424M specifications for return loss. The dielectric had also been extended on the jack to improve the mechanical strength of the center contact without return loss performance degradation. Connectors provide a solid, anti-splay outside diameter to mitigate any "wiggle."
