Maxtron TG-5120B SD/HD-SDI Pattern Generator with Battery Pack
The TG5120B is a full featured, multi-pattern, multi-format, SMPTE 259M/292M SD/HD-SDI test signal generatorwith embedded 16-Channel voice ID's and audio tones. The TG-5120B expands upon the Maxtron TG-5100 seriesof test pattern generators with new patterns and the addition of Standard Definition NTSC and PAL SDI formats.Embedded voice tags repeat the channel ID every 15 seconds, leaving no doubts or confusion about which audiochannel is being monitored. The inclusion of digitally generated, standard level 1kHz®/440Hz(L) audio tones,within each group permit very accurate system leveling checks. Both the US -20dBFS and European -18dBFSreference levels are supported via internal jumper.
The pattern lineup for the TG-5120B includes new patterns, one specifically designed for the emerging 3D videoapplications, and new Cr and Cb ramps. Others patterns include the moving zoneplate which is used to exposevideo compression and scaling artifacts and the pathological pattern which is used to stress the SDI receiverPLL's in the signal path. There is a traveling wizard that moves, in a ping-pong fashion, about the screen toreveal dropped or repeated frames or frozen video in frame stores and MPEG encoders. Also included is aproprietary A/V Sync video flash pattern with coincident gated audio designed to permit measuring the exactsystem audio-video delay.
Rugged and durable, the TG-5120B is supplied with the optional factory installed internal Lithium-ion battery pack. It is housed ina mechanically strong, extruded aluminum box, with laser cut openings. Pattern and format selects use pushwheelsthat are not prone to being accidently changed and always indicate the exact status of the generator.
